Beauty Empties & Review

Empties reviews are one of my favourite types of videos/blog posts to watch and read - so I thought I'd start sharing my beauty empties here on the blog since I haven't been as active on my YouTube Channel lately.

Here are the 5 most recent beauty products I've used up...

Live Clean Exotic Vitality Monoi Oil Strengthening Shampoo ($6.26 at Walmart)

This 96% plant derived shampoo is designed to strengthen your hair and revitalize hair follicles, is sulfate free, paraben free, phthalate free and overall is a great product. It smells amazing - somewhere along the lines of sweet and fruity melons. It is very gentle on the hair and doesn't dry it out at all. This is a shampoo that I can use, and if I don't have conditioner, it's not a huge deal because it's conditioning on it's own. I have always loved this line of products, and would definitely repurchase this one.

Clean & Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover ($6.97 at Walmart)

This is, and has for a long time been my favourite eye makeup remover. It is extremely gentle and does a great job of getting everything off easily with a cotton pad. It is affordable, the bottle lasts a long time, and it doesn't irritate my eyes at all. I have recommended this product to others in the past and would continue to do so. I am currently trying out the newest trend of micellar waters, but I would definitely repurchase this.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub ($4.57 at Walmart)

Word on the street is that this product is terrible for your skin, but I work in a restaurant and I can never get over how clean and soft this product makes my skin feel. I have oil soaking into my pores all day, and I need something that makes me feel like my skin is refreshed and clean at the end of the day. This scrub does that for me. It is gentle enough but still effective, and I love that it is sulfate free, paraben free, and has all natural exfoliants (no plastic beads going into the oceans!). This is a continual repurchase for me.

Maybelline Master Conceal - Fair ($7.96 at Walmart)

This is my all time favourite drugstore concealer, and the second tube of this product I've been through. I'm halfway into my 3rd tube and I still love the product. I can use either fair, or light (fair is more brightening for under the eyes, while light is better for acne coverage etc.) and it does a great job of covering up my dark circles and blemishes while blending seamlessly into my foundation with a sponge. I will continue to purchase this product if I don't find something even better. For now, this one is my favourite because it looks so natural, doesn't crease and I'm happy with it's performance and lasting power.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation ($16.46 at Walmart)

If you are looking for a great full coverage foundation from the drugstore, look no further! This foundation is definitely that. It is slightly thicker, so I like it better for the fall/winter months but this foundation reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder double wear - which is almost a cult favourite. I love that the foundation comes with a pump so you can easily dispense the product. It can be built up or sheered out with a sponge, and it doesn't oxidize on me throughout the day. It has great lasting power too. I do need to make sure I remember to moisturize when I use this, even though I purchased the normal/dry formula because if I don't, it can look a little bit cakey. I love trying out different foundations so I won't repurchase this right away, but I definitely would in the future.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?
Any products I should try out!? I'd love to hear from you!

  1. I've used Live Clean shampoos and conditioners before, but I don't really notice any difference. Same as whenever I splurge and buy good shampoos from Lush. I'd love to have nicer, healthier hair, but don't know what I'm doing wrong. Hahah
